Inkjet-compatible decor papers

TECHNOCELL® IJ-DEKOR® and TECHNOCELL® IJ-PRIP® open up new possibilities in digital decor printing. They enable bespoke designs for small batch sizes and patterns that go beyond the traditional 140-cm repeat pattern.

Customised designs in small batch sizes, patterns extending beyond the classic 140 cm repeat: industrial inkjet printing opens up new creative possibilities. This requires a paper that is compatible with the printing system and can be reliably processed in laminate.

 

TECHNOCELL® IJ-DEKOR® is suitable for a wide range of inkjet systems and enables high-resolution print quality. The base papers are manufactured specifically for this purpose: they are either coated with a color-receptive layer or made inkjet-compatible directly on the paper machine.

 

When printed on, the paper retains the properties of conventional decor papers: resin absorption, opacity, lightfastness and temperature stability.

 

The pre-impregnated variant, TECHNOCELL® IJ-PRIP®, can be processed in the same way as other pre-impregnated paper films.

    • The ink should be allowed to dry thoroughly before further processing
    • Rapid penetration through to the reverse side

  • IJ-Dekor® Standard

    Inkjet decor paper with a special surface finish for industrial applications in single-pass and multi-pass inkjet printing machines.

     

    Paper type

    • Uncoated paper, paper fibre treatment
    • Opacity achieved through titanium dioxide
    • Decorative colors
    • Very similar to standard decor paper

     

    Printing 

    • For water-based pigmented inks
    • Moderate increase in dot gain
    • Good resolution
    • Image assessment following lamination

     

    Processing

    • Suitable for impregnation
    • The ink should be allowed to dry thoroughly before further processing
    • Good penetration
    • Standard resin properties

     

    Applications

    • Industrial inkjet decorative printing products
    • Small batch sizes for standard designs
    • Special and/or colorful designs

  • IJ-PRIP®

    Pre-impregnated paper suitable for all ink systems and universally usable as a conventional film.

    • Lightly colored PRIP® base 
    • Exclusive pre-impregnated paper (handle with care)

     

    Printing

    • Wide range of inks, including UV
    • Minimal dot gain with most inks
    • Excellent dot sharpness
    • Direct print image

     

    Finishing

    • Varnishing after printing
    • The ink should be allowed to dry thoroughly before further processing
    • Lamination as with other pre-impregnated materials
    • A slightly higher coating application is required

    • Speciality applications in the photography and graphics sectors
    • Attractive furniture designs
    • Skirting boards

  • IJ-Dekor® Pure

    A pure fibre fabric for inkjet printing, suitable as a printing layer. Can be laminated onto opaque colored backing materials or directly onto other substrates, e.g. plywood.

     

    Paper type

    • Uncoated paper, paper fibre treatment
    • No opacity, no filler
    • No color
    • Comparable to overlay paper

     

    Printing

    • For water-based pigmented inks
    • Moderate increase in dot gain 
    • Good resolution
    • Image quality is heavily influenced by ink quality

     

    Handling

    • Impregnation
    • The ink should be allowed to dry thoroughly before further processing
    • Dry pressing

     

    Applications

    • Combination with opaque barrier paper
    • Personalisation of base designs with additional images
    • Printed inlays

     

    Technical data

    Basis weights: 40–50 g/m², uncolored
