Sustainable decor papers
Sustainability is firmly rooted in our company because it is our vision to make life better through paper. How can we do our bit to conserve limited resources while protecting people and the planet? We are working on solutions to replace eucalyptus with alternative fibers.
Find out more about our concepts for sustainable products in the decor paper sector.
Alternative fibers from plant residues
Fibers from the remains of plants after their first use are used for second harvest papers. These are materials that are left over after harvesting (e.g. straw, husks, fruit residues, etc.) and would otherwise have no further use.
Together with our partners Interprint & Tensei, we have joined forces and developed a decor paper using Second Harvest fibers.
This product concept is a sustainable option on the decor market, as it increases efficiency by making more extensive use of the plants, thus improving the overall environmental impact of the end product.
Consistent product performance with improved environmental compatibility:
- High-quality surface that produces first-class printing results
- Good ink absorption and fast ink drying properties
- Good runnability on the printing machine
- Well-defined dimensional stability
- Outstanding converting properties (high strength, rapid resin penetration)
- At least Blue Wool Scale 6 lightfastness

More concept ideas
In the area of sustainability, we are not exclusively concerned with alternative fibers, but also pursue solution-oriented approaches to save resources in conventional production processes. An excellent example of this is our carbon-saving RSP® decor paper. (The following figures are based on the assumption of approx. 35 million m² of impregnates produced in one year for one impregnation channel).
